The security code you see on the page is a feature we implemented to thwart unauthorized activity on the SeattleRentals.com web site. The use of 3rd party software and malicious scripts is becoming more and more of a problem on the Internet. Pranksters and spammers use these tools to send unwanted email to the property managers advertising their vacancies on SeattleRentals.com.
In addition to creating a poor customer experience, the increased load on the servers drives up the cost for hosting the site. To protect the legitimate users of the site and to ensure that SeattleRentals.com always stays free for renters, we've adopted the security code feature for email inquiries. This feature requires a human eye to read letters from a computer-generated image and then type them into the submission form.
